Priya Bansal, PhD
Post-Doctoral Resident
Dr. Bansal received her doctorate in counseling psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is currently a postdoctoral resident in clinical psychology supervised by Megan Barone, PsyD.
Dr. Bansal identifies as a second-generation Indian American, bisexual, cisgender woman and is Hindi-English bilingual. Clinically, she is interested in understanding how culture and social identities shape life experiences. She has a passion for working with adults with historically minoritized identities including BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ individuals, and adults whose current life challenges include relationship issues, codependency, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief.
Dr. Bansal’s approach to therapy integrates Psychodynamic, Relational, and Multicultural work. She believes that patterns from the past often show up in the present in unhelpful ways, and she is committed to helping her clients identify and break free from these patterns in order to live more engaged and fulfilled lives.
Dr. Bansal believes that developing strong relationships is central to creating meaningful changes in life. Her clients can expect warmth, authenticity, empathy, humor, and an investment in their stories as they journey toward healing.
